Pool Party

When you have enough water pressure but not a long enough hose...Duct Tape.

So our awesome next door neighbors were soooooo very kind in giving us their pool this last week. Their kids are all college age now and it was not getting use the last year or so, but that was soon to change.  Monday we took it down from their yard and set it up temporarily in ours. Tuesday we leveled the 18' spot. Wed we picked up some scrap industrial carpet to lay on the leveled ground (a trick I heard works well on a pool forum) and then we set up the blue beast in it's finial resting spot.

Of course as soon as we started to fill it with freezing cold water the kids wanted to get in. I had to get in it several times to work creases in the liner out of the bottom and the children just thought I was being mean not letting them get in with me. Their little disappointed faces lasted about 8 hours as it filled but by the am the next day we had ourselves a pool.

For the first few days I almost dreaded getting in it every time I had to do something but we had to force children to get out even though their lips were turning blue and they were teeth were nearly chattering out of their heads.

We are not the only ones to enjoy the pool. These tiny frogs seem think they own it too now.

We had a few other adventures this week. We had a birthday party for the oldest fogey in the household with fluffy cheesecake and blackened chicken burgers. We had visitors arrive with jelly belly-flops
and Marshall was paid the most money he has ever held in his life this week thanks to that visit too. He will want to tell you that story himself. Just don't believe the part about him out-smarting his Dad.
