We had several outdoor work projects this week to get the yard ready for our BBQ club activity at the house on Saturday. We built benches out of scrap wood from work. Daddy started nails and the kids finished them off. I'm sure the neighbors loved having 3 kids hammering early on a Saturday morning...The theme for the night was "Southern Eats" and we did fried green tomatoes (we have a ton of tomatoes in the garden) but we should have done Daddy's baking powder biscuits.
I quickly realized after looking through the photos from this week that there is an orange bucket in every picture after this point. We bought 20 of them to work on the retaining wall and they have found many uses. We made 6) benches out of 4x4's and had plenty of single seats for the BBQ.

Our little 3 apple trees in the backyard are packed with little green fruit right now but we noticed last weekend on the way to the Blue Angles airshow that on a city corner there was a huge apple tree that was dropping it's fruit by the bushel down the hill. They were going to waste on the ground so we grabbed our trusty buckets and filled a few. For FHE tomorrow we are going to sauce them up with some friends.

Other things this week:
- Mommy went blueberry picking with the kids. Next time she needs a ladder for the high ones.
- Kids are doing their last week of swim lessons.
- We learned that we get to have some friends stay with us in Oct.
We are really looking forward to our quick trip back to the mother land. It will be fun to see all the families again.
