Scheduled

“The key is not to prioritize what's on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.”
 Stephen R. Covey

One thing that we decided to slide into our schedule is to at least once a month do a trip to a museum or something of that nature around here to explore what we have locally. There are tons of places a family could burn a day. We actualy wrote it on a calender a few weeks ago out of necessity because we had to start scheduling in all the 3 zillion things going on....This week we awoke on Saturday (after our late night temple trip date) and realized we scheduled to go to the Zoo with the kids.

Daddy was enthused for all of 5 minutes and then realized how much time, money, and energy was going to be expended on this outing that would probably end like most of our family outings. In tears. The only question that remained was would those tears come from the children, or the parents. It has become the running joke that I could extract the same amount of tears a lot cheaper and quicker from the comfort of my sofa. Actually, we had a lot of fun...even Daddy liked it.

Thing 1 liked the tigers, lemurs, and touching the starfish.
Thing II liked the Gibbons (We were corrected that they are not monkeys) and he touched a stingray.
Princess1 liked the colorful coral reef fish and shark exhibits.
Princess II liked the penguins and walruses (you can hear here squeal on the video below).
Daddy liked the meerkats
Mommy liked watching her own kids have a blast.

Other things going on:
Grandpa M. Root beer tasting line-up
  • Mommy had the best mothers day ever (right Mommy?) Mostly because we are making margarita chicken tonight.
  • We had a visit from Grandma and Grandpa M.last Saturday. We ate GLT's (Gyro, Lettuce, and Tomato sandwiches) and played at a park. Grandpa liked the Fireman's Root Beer almost as much as Hires and Princess II actually let him hold her for a bit.
  • Daddy made Dutch oven cobbler and a working 7$ fire piston for the scouts "Fire-night"!
  • We had pizza made on the BBQ grill this week. (if you have never done it you should. The grill imparts an awesome flavor!)
  • Daddy renewed his life insurance and qualified for the "Elite"  Health Status. So if you didn't know before...I am elite.
  • Mommy had a second ultrasound this week. The doctors are calling it a girl this time. Mommy is not convinced yet. Intuition versus Science. I never bet against Mommy but I guess time will tell...
On the schedule this week...
Mommy and Daddy have their 9th anniversary.
Stake Father and Sons camp-out is this coming Saturday.

The beauty of science is that if you don't like the results, you can always say P(the outcome I want)=alpha. Here's hoping for the 0.05 probability of a man child.
